- one blood donation can help save up to 3 lives
- only 8% of the eligible US population donates blood
- every 2 seconds, someone in America needs blood
- less than 30% of the people who give blood once will ever give blood again
- donated blood only lasts for 42 days
- you can donate blood as many as 6 times a year
I always joke that Ben gives away all my blood before it's even out of my arm. Joking aside, though, donating blood is a great cause. Plus, afterwards you get guilt-free juice and cookies. And it could't be easier to get an appointment--you can pick the date and time that fits into your schedule all online.

Rick and I always give blood, We go to a local Red Cross and give every 60 days. They call and remind and are open late so we can go after work. We are trying to get on the schedule with our ward. It seemed every time the sheet came along to sign up we cant because we already have. So we are trying to get in sinc with the mobil Red Cross that comes to our church. I always feel great after I give blood. I hope to be able to donate all my life.
I use to donate all the time! And then when they found out my blood type they asked me to donate my platelets so I donated those a lot. But I haven't done so in a long time. I think the last time was shortly after 9/11. I really should make an appointment. Thanks for reminding me! ;)
