Birthday!
Another year older. I think I am going to stop having birthdays. *sigh* In any event, I had a great day. Ben was going to buy me a birthday cake, but the little boys wanted to help me make a cake, so we made the cake. A few years ago, the ladies Ben works with caught wind that I had made my own birthday cake, and they have never let him live this down. I really don't mind making my own cake. It certainly tastes better than a store-bought one. Anyway, the boys really did help...even tried cracking the eggs and everything. They loved it! So it was a treat for me to make it with them.
Ben also made dinner for me. He made a spaghetti with alfredo sauce (from a jar, but it was yummy), with ground turkey and garlic bread. Quite impressive. I had to give him the menu, though. After dinner, I watched Young Guns which I had recorded on TV. It was a blast from the past!! Made me feel old. Then I got my birthday present, pictured below. It is a GPS running watch by Garmin. I already love it. I have an account on their website that uploads my workouts and calculates things like elevation change, calories burned, pace, etc. It is awesome. And the best thing is it is so much smaller than Ben's Garmin.
Next up is Ben's birthday...tomorrow, in fact. I love having out birthdays a week apart. :)

Pampering!
Every now and then I love to get a pedicure. The latest one I got a couple weeks ago is one of my favorites. I picked a very dark purple color (looks black). The ladies will always ask you if you want a flower (and charge you a couple bucks extra for it)...I always say yes. They paint them on free-hand with white nail polish, and glue a little sparkly jewel in the center. It turned out striking on the black/purple. The lady sitting next to me said "I want flowers just exactly like that!" I love cute toes! (Or, at least, toenails...as I don't think I have very attractive toes.)

1st day on the bus
So, after the slow start to kindergarten, the boys finally started full time. Here is their first morning at the bus stop. Mister had had a loose tooth for days. He was excited to let me try to pull it, until after the first attempt and he realized minimal blood and pain were involved. So, he got on the bus with a very loose tooth, that kept getting "stuck" pointing in. I drove down to the school to take pics of them getting off the bus, and he runs up to me and says "I lost my tooth on the bus!" He had it clamped in his little hand, so I told him I would take it home and keep it safe for the tooth fairy. He was so excited about it that he ran into his classroom and had to tell his teacher right away.

New Hobby
These have been hot lately, but I've not been interested in making them, until my little sister showed me one she had done. Missy and I went out and bought some supplies and we had a ton of fun making different bands (or bracelets). Here is the one in pink that Missy did. She has a cute heart charm that dangles from the underside.

Up close of the two colors. The color on the bottom is a rusty red. (Sorry for the poor quality of the pics...not sure what is up with my camera.)
I repainted the frames that the pictures of Joseph Smith and Christ are in. They are cheap Walmart frames, and I thought they would look classier if I painted them black.
Here is a picture looking from the living room (my kids call it the family room--it's the formal "front" room of the house) into the entry way.
I rearranged the furniture in this room. It is much cozier, and I love it. The end table on the left in this picture is really a beautiful piece of furniture, but you could hardly see it in the previous arrangement. We also bought a new mirror to hang in the entry way. I'm still contemplating window coverings. I'll post pics of those when I decide what I want.
